Annual report 2018-19
Levelling up Stollery care in your backyard
You – our team member – are the reason we’ve been able to reach the next level and expand our Stollery network of care even further. Over the past year, together we’ve embarked on many quests to support Stollery kids and, thanks to you, we’ve elevated and equipped the Stollery with new skills and environments.
Because of you, we’ve powered up research by providing $5 million over five years to fund seven Stollery Science Lab Distinguished Researchers. These leading-edge researchers are making a difference for children and families in our own backyard and across the globe.
Because of you, we boosted family-centred care by investing more than $288,000 in the Stollery’s pet and music therapy programs, which help children cope with the stresses of being away from home.
Because of you, we’ve upgraded specialized care and improved comfort for critically ill children and their families by providing $1.2 million to redevelop the newly named Hiller Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
By joining our mission this year, you’ve helped unlock a network of care that has an area of affect that reaches into backyards across Alberta. Through pediatric transport, telehealth programs, specialized equipment and innovative research, you not only advanced care at the Stollery but also helped to better support rural areas – optimizing patient outcomes and reducing travel, stress and cost for families.
Thank you for taking the time to complete the walkthrough of our annual report. You truly are a game changer, helping us level up children’s physical and mental health care to give kids the best chance at a long and healthy life.
Sincerely,
Mike House, MBA, ICD.D President and CEO |
