EDMONTON — The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation officially launched its 9th Mighty Millions Lottery today!
Net proceeds from this year’s fall lottery are projected to exceed $3 million to purchase highly specialized equipment such as standardized and certified equipment for the Stollery’s neonatal intensive care unit transport team. Ticket purchasers will also make sure kids from backyards across Alberta have access to some of the best physical and mental health care anywhere in the world.
“The Stollery Children’s Hospital has more than 317,000 patient visits each year, with 37 per cent of Stollery kids coming from outside the Edmonton area,” says Mike House, president and CEO of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Responsible for the safe arrival of 750-850 of the Stollery’s tiniest but mightiest patients each year, the NICU transport team’s equipment needs to be replaced to care for very ill babies from across Alberta and the Northwest Territories today and in the future.” House adds the Stollery is the most specialized children’s hospital in Western Canada and serves the largest population of kids, spanning four provinces and three territories.
The fall lottery features a $2.7 million grand prize which includes a luxury showhome located in Keswick on the River, custom-built by Newground Developments. This beautiful 6,500 square-foot home sits on a corner lot and features four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and a spacious principal suite. The home will be awarded fully furnished and professionally decorated, along with a 2023 Porsche Cayenne PLUS $200,000 cash.
