We’re building a bigger, better play area so that Stollery kids can be kids!
The Saville Family Beach and Enchanted Forest will play a vital role in the development and healing of kids at the Stollery. Through play, children can get therapeutic stress release from an often overwhelming hospital experience and improve their overall physical and emotional well-being.
The Beach and Enchanted Forest will be a part of the Stollery’s expert Child Life program that provides specialized, life-changing therapeutic programs for kids and families that have proven to provide long-term health benefits. The renovation and expansion will help provide a comfortable place for kids and families to connect outside of their hospital rooms and units, helping to create a sense of normalcy within
the hospital setting. Nearly doubling the existing indoor space with the new outdoor expansion, this necessary upgrade will include 10-foot waves, a submarine, a teepee, play structure and so much more!
Over the past three years, donors like you have invested $5 million to renovate, expand and reimagine the Beach and Enchanted Forest. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and all the partners involved, the renovated and new play areas are set to open in early 2024!
